Medical technology companies raised a relatively meager $252 million in February 2012, marking an unusually low month.  By comparisons, funding in January 2012 totaled $401 million and December 2011 fundings hit $450 million.

Top fundings for February 2012 are shown below:

• Apollo Endosurgery raised $53 million (minimally invasive, natural orifice surgery)
• Amplitude Systèmes raised $39 million (Ti:sapphire lasers for medical imaging, cancer therapy)
• Halt Medical raised $20 million (less invasive treatment of uterine fibroids)
