Medical technology brings in $400 million in August 2011

Financings of medical technology companies hit $400 million for the month of August 2011.  Top among the individual financings was NeuroPace, who raised $49 million for its treatment of epilepsy and other neurological disorders via brain stimulation.  This was followed by VIVUS, who raised $46 million for its pharma treatments of obesity, diabetes, sleep apnea, and other conditions.
