A steady stream of new products in surgical securement (sealants, glues, wound closure, hemostasis, anti-adhesion) are being introduced to the market (especially in the U.S.). With relatively low barriers to market entry, a cost climate that is conducive to products that accelerate and facilitate wound healing, and a stable (growing!) caseload in surgical securement, the rate of new product introduction is unsurprising. Outside the U.S., product introductions are robust as well, but there is equally strong growth in the introduction and expansion of existing Western products into Europe, to a lesser extent Japan, and rest of world markets.
